King Street

Burogloo acted as architect on this traditional procurement and development project in central London, converting offices over (operational) retail units to form flats. The project also included rooftop development to create six residential units in all.

The project was challenging for many reasons, being in a central London conservation area, accessed by a single staircase with its entrance off a busy Covent Garden street, and owing to the building’s poor state of repair and the high density of the development proposals.

We pride ourselves on our ability to find the right balance between site density, saleability and high quality living standards, offering schemes designed both to maximise returns and to create dwellings that are attractive and comfortable to inhabit.

Projects to date have included the conversion of a listed church into 14 flats, development of new-build multi-unit residential developments, wholesale residential and mixed use development of office and apartment buildings and redevelopment of private houses. In each case, we offer our clients ideas on how best to use the space, and exploit the site to best effect. Additionally Burogloo continues to work with private landlord clients to maximise their property portfolios and develop underused sites and buildings into commercially viable residential developments, frequently within central London conservation areas.

Whether working as project leader or alongside external project managers and other design and project professionals, Burogloo offers a fresh, forward thinking, practical approach and a reliable architectural service, tailored both to the client’s needs and project and site constraints.
